About Us
Christie Sears Thompson, MA, LMFT
Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Owner of Trade Winds Therapy & Relationship Coaching

As not only a therapist, but also a wife and mother, I have seen first-hand the importance of a strong family foundation. My main goal is to help my clients achieve genuine connection, communicate more effectively, and create the relationships they want to have so this foundation can carry them through the storms that life will inevitably throw at them.

I am originally from the East Coast and grew up most of my life in Virginia. After graduating from Sweet Briar College, I moved to Miami, Florida for about a year and half to work with under-privileged children, their families, and the homeless population there. When an opportunity presented itself to move to Denver, Colorado and work with the organization I partnered with in Miami, I was excited to take the leap.

My next few years in Colorado would lead me to find my calling as a therapist and return to school to earn a Master’s degree in the field. I now have a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University and am excited to help those in need through providing these vital mental health and relationship-building services. I am particularly passionate about helping new and young families through premarital counseling, the challenges of becoming new parents, and providing play therapy for kids who are struggling with a variety of emotional and family distresses.
There is a quote on the homepage that states, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." This sums up how I hope everyone can live their lives by moving past their fears and seizing the opportunities that lie before them. I believe therapy is just one way to help transform your dreams into realities and I want to walk with you in your journey.

Maggie VanDenBerg, MS, LMFT
Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Associate Therapist of Trade Winds Therapy & Relationship Coaching

In my practice as a therapist, I strive to quickly develop a comfortable, accepting, and therapeutic relationship with clients. This creates a safe space for clients to explore their current challenges. I understand first hand that people often lose hope during trying times. I am honored to be a part of helping clients as they rebuild hope and confidence in themselves and their future.
I specialize in pregnancy and postpartum mental health, transition and change, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma, healing from domestic violence, complex family dynamics, and parent coaching. I am trained and experienced in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which helps clients process traumatic or disturbing experiences. I welcome individuals, adolescents, couples, and families!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Colorado. I have over seven years of clinical experience working with a wide range of client issues and backgrounds. I also have over 15 years experience working in a variety of helping professions. I have a Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University, and a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I spend time with my family, composed of myself, my husband, and two hysterical young children who often test my patience! I enjoy traveling to see extended family, especially when they live in cool places. I also love gardening, working out, reading, and sleeping!
"Have compassion for everyone you meet, even if they don’t want it. What appears conceit, bad manners, or cynicism, is always a sign of things no ears have heard, no eyes have seen. You do not know what wars are going on down there where the skin meets the bone."
