Since 2010, Christie has been a "Companion Volunteer" at Judi's House in Denver, Colorado. Judi's House is a place for children and their families to go who are grieving the death of a special person. A belief she shares with this organization is that grieving and loss are very personal experiences with no set timelines or structures. She helps children through their grief after the death of a family member, assists widows and widowers in finding the "new normal" for their life after losing a spouse, and guides the entire family system adjust to losses that impact family functioning.
